Clear Expectations

How a Remodel Runs With Us

Most remodeling fights start with a vague quote. So every project we take on runs on the same written rules, before, during and after the work.

The rule behind all of it

Written First

Nothing gets built, changed or billed until it is written down and you have approved it. The scope, the price, every allowance and every change. If it is not on paper, it does not happen and it does not get charged.

How a Project Runs

  1. 1

You call or send the form

Tell us the room or the part of the house, and what is wrong with it. Photos help.

  2. 2

    We book a walkthrough

Estimates are by appointment, seven days a week. A next-day walkthrough can be booked when it does not clash with another appointment.

  3. 3

You get a written scope and price

Every item, the materials, any allowances, who pulls the permits and the order the work runs in. Before anyone picks up a tool.

  4. 4

The work runs to that scope

One project manager from demolition to the final caulk line. Anything that changes gets priced and approved in writing first.

  5. 5

We walk it with you at the end

In daylight, room by room. Anything that is not right goes on a list and gets fixed.

Before any work starts

  • ✓A walkthrough of the rooms or the outside of the house
  • ✓A written scope: every item, the materials and the order the work runs in
  • ✓One written price, with every allowance named and given a figure
  • ✓Who pulls the permits, written down, not left unsaid
  • ✓Nothing starts until you have approved it

When something changes

  • ✓If a wall, floor or siding comes off and shows rot, water or old wiring, we stop
  • ✓You see what we found, with photos, before we go further
  • ✓The fix is priced as a change order, in writing
  • ✓Nothing is added to the price without your written approval

While we are in your house

  • ✓Dust control and protected floors in the rooms we work in
  • ✓The site left usable at the end of each day
  • ✓A real arrival window, and a call if anything changes
  • ✓One project manager you can reach, from demolition to the final caulk line

After the work

  • ✓Our work carries a 60 to 90 day warranty, depending on the job
  • ✓Ask which term applies to your project when the written scope comes through
  • ✓Call the same number and the same company comes back

Hours and how to reach us

  • ✓Monday to Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. We are not a 24-hour business
  • ✓Outside those hours, send the form and mark it as an emergency, or call and leave a message. We respond during business hours
  • ✓Estimates by appointment, seven days a week
  • ✓Commercial clients can book short-notice, after-hours and weekend work, quoted per job

What we do not do

  • ✓Roofing, plumbing and HVAC. Those are separate All Purpose trades with their own teams
  • ✓Live phone answering around the clock, or crews sent out in the middle of the night
  • ✓Start work on a handshake. The scope and price come first, in writing
  • ✓Paint over a problem. Rot, water and failed patches get fixed before the finish goes on
